"It?s a robust camera and high quality printing"
Pros: Splash proof, dust remover, I love Olympus?s color rendition, its build, amazing lens system very good for low light conditions
Cons: Fore a4 prints iso 800 is just fine but 1600 is not the best
Summary: Overall I choused the e1 for its good lens system. even do others might have a better digital chips, still the E1 from iso 100 400 (which I manly use) has same high quality chip, plus Olympus lens system is full frame and high quality lens (at reasonable price) and have wide aperture, and half the wait, splash proof dust proof, you can take it every where with out worrying about your chip getting dirty, as appose to other brands you would have to pay allot for full frame, high quality lens, wide aperture, and will be twice as heavy and very few are water proof not even mentioning dustproof.
Beside for the fact that Olympus is putting allot of effort in adding more technology like antishake, and I am sure they will improve there chips.
Conclusion if you don?t own lenses from other brands I would recommend the E1 or E300 and if you got patience await the new Olympus SLR?s
