sharp portrait, easy to use, good flash.
Extremely slow focus in dim lighting; poor documentation on exporting Images

This is my second digital camera; my first is a Canon S2 IS which I love but it is too bulky to fit in my shirt pocket, so I purchased this Olympus. The FE-120 is very simple to use, I started using after a 1-minute quickly scan through the "quick start" pamphlet. The camera does not have much MANUAL functions other than choosing resolution level and on-off-auto flash.
I tested it in various lighting, in bright lighting everything feels "normal", but in dim lighting; two 100watt incandescent bulbs lited 12x12 room; surprise...after you press the shooting button fully, it takes 3 seconds for the camera to acquire focus and then flash. So you'll have to countdown from 5,4, 3-snap,2,1,flash. to keep your objects holding their posture. Hopefully your objects could hold still that long.
The resulting pictures are excellent though, at widest focus and default "High-Quality" setting, it's even better than the Canon S2IS at it's wide shots. At "Super HQ", it's gets better still. The Flash is very good at under 13 feet. No red-eye reduction though.
The bundled software is good for transferring images from camera and keeps images sorted by date, for editing...you'll need to pay for the upgrade. It took me almost an hour to figure out how to export the images as JPG so that I could use other software to edit. The user-manual is very weak on this. Tip; for those who want to export their images; use the Olympus Master, choose backup images, backup to media, choose your target folder, start backup. Looks easy now, but try figuring that out on your own...
Have not tried the panoramic views and movie functions, no comment on these.
Bottom line, if your objects are adults and can hold still for 5 seconds in dim lighting, it's excellent. Outdoors, bright lighting, good rating.
