"Great Images, Fun to Use"
on by daisydadPros The image quality is much better than two former Olympus dSLRS (E-500 and E-420) that I owned. The live controls that enable users to change the ISO, white balance and more without sifting through menus make it a breeze to use.
Cons I love the solid build but the camera is heavier than you might expect, The EP-1 is challenging to use in bright sunlight. I sometimes use a Hoodman Hoodloupe as focusing aid.
Summary This camera may not be for everyone because it does not have a viewfinder and the focusing is slower than many cameras, but for someone who wants a relatively small camera that does just about everything a dSLR does, it might be the right tool.

"Beautiful images, gorgeous design"
on by redwranglerPros It's built like a tank. The images are gorgeous. iAuto mode analyzes what you're doing and adjust camera settings accordingly. Image quality rivals my Canon Rebel XSi, and its half the size.
Cons I do wish it had an onboard viewfinder. In bright sunlight it can be nearly impossible to see the LCD well enough to properly frame the shot.
Summary A beautiful camera that has quickly become my favorite one to use. I'm going to sell my Canon EOS Rebel XSi- the Olympus is an all-around great design. I used to use the original old half fram Pen EE, and this one feels as well-made and sturdy as that old film camera did. Just so much fun to use. I took off one star because of the lack of onboard viewfinder, and the rather high price, but I do love this little beauty.
