"Fantastic Camera" on by slyasafox
Pros: Small,weatherproof,easy menu settings,great pictures
Cons: I really can't find any cons yet
Summary: I just got this camera last weeek and it is fantastic. It has many scene modes to choose from has image stablization so you don't get blurry pictures in low light. The camera is small and compact. I really liked the idea of editing my pictures in the camera before I downloaded them to my computer. You can actually go into the the edit picture menu in the review mode and fix the red eye, saturation,make the picture darker or lighter or make the picture a different size. I thought that was really cool.The battery life is really good and it takes decent pictures in low light. I think Olympus really got it right with this camera.

"Good camera except in bright sunlight" on by amerigo2
Pros: lots of good features but;
Cons: Can not see image on LCD on sunny day
Summary: Sorry, all the good features are negated when you go in the sunshine to take pictures and you can not see the image on the LCD. I bought it at Christmas and Yesterday I bought a different camera and it is useable in the sunlight.

"All weather? Hardly. It's useless in bright sunlight." on by mach612
Pros: Lots of scene modes. Easy to use. Has high ISO setting. In-camera editing may be valuable for people who don't own or know how to use a photo editor such as PhotoShop or Gimp. Small, but easy to grip. Has in-camera help menus.
Cons: 1. No optical viewfinder, but LCD nearly useless in bright sunlight. I bought a Delkin shade, and tried all settings, but it's not satisfactory.
2. Poor image quality, worse than my 1st-generation digitals.
3. XD cards -- slow, expensive.Summary: I bought it for the "all weather" feature, the small size and the 5x zoom. I wanted a fun camera I could take anywhere and not worry about messing up. But it's such a dog I rarely do.
I have other cameras for when I want to get serious photos. It's fine for indoors and in the shade, but seriously, who wants a camera you can't use on a sunny day?
Image quality is not good. Honestly, I think my first gen digitals with 2 and 3 megapixels (Fuji a205 and Canon a70) take better photos.
It has features I'll never use, like the ability to record a memo after each shot. It's the basics that are a failure in this camera.
Some advice:
1. Avoid any camera that uses only XD cards. It's all but dead now. The cards are hard to find, overpriced and SLOW. Most newer Olympus cameras now offer Micro SD and Micro SCHC with an adapter as an alternative, while Fuji has gone to SDHC.
2. If your camera lacks an optical viewfinder, make sure you get a better LCD than this one. Again, some of the newer Olympus cameras have supposedly better LCDs. Avoid the cheaper Olympus models (or from anyone else) with this technology. I was stunned the first time I took this out in bright sunlight and the LCD was like a mirror. I can't believe that any reputable company would sell a camera with such crappy core technology. Olympus probably lost me as a customer permanently with this one. -
