"Dual Image Stabilization makes a difference"
Pros: Dual Image Stabilization, Sturdy Metal Body, Weather Proof, images are decent, moderately sharp
Cons: Sluggish performance, dual image stabilization works and sometimes doesn't work, no full manual control of camera
Summary: I was looking for a decent point-and-shoot camera because I was tired of lugging my DSLR to casual occasions. I sold my Canon SD700IS (biggest mistake I've made last year) so I can afford a few pro lenses I was interested in. Then I forgot how handy a point-and-shoot camera is to have. So I didn't want to spend DSLR body prices for a point-and-shoot camera with IS (Canon sure is pricey). So I came across the Olympus Stylus 760. My girlfriend owns an Olympus FE-230 and it only has digital image stabilization which just boosts the ISO and shutter speeds resulting in noise-filled pictures. Using the Stylus 760, I was surprised how low the noise levels were for low light pictures that I took. The pictures I took were considerably sharp, colors were okay but fixable during post processing. The image stabilizer seemed to work 60% of the time (even with a steady aim - Canon's IS is by far the best I've seen yet for point-and-shoot cameras) - but for the money I was paying for, you get the most bang for your buck. No full manual controls like aperture or shutter speed control. Nonetheless, it's great for point-and-shoot photography. I wasn't expecting DSLR results from a point-and-shoot camera anyway. The Stylus 760 gets my thumbs up and if you're not willing to shell out almost $400-500 on a point-and-shoot with 7+ megapixels and an image stabilizer, the Olympus Stylus 760 is on my top 5 list of good point-and-shoot cameras.
