"Grade A "point and shoot""4.5 starson by jbierlein
Pros: Solid construction, easy to get "good" pictures with preset scenes, good feature mix
Cons: Will preset image resolution with each scene (indoor, portrait), probably a way to set that I have not found yet.
Summary: Previous olympus owner (1.5 MegaPixel D-450). Went into the camera store convinced, I'd buy the Nikon CoolPix 7900. After seeing the Nikon's silly menus (the Olympus "Scenes" feature is very straight forward to handle different lighting/shot situations) and an unprotected LCD display (Olympus has a nice clear protective cover) I was won over by the stylus 800.
Always liked the slide cover in terms of lens protection and this solves the issues with the larger slide on other olympus models. The 1 GB card is essential.
Tested with my kids, indoor/outdoor motion, night time shots with tripod, really impressed. LCD is much brighter.
