"It disappointed me. I was pretty dumb."
on by tsf_michellePros Nice design and color. Decent quality of pictures
Cons $200 for a 4MP refurbished camera?
Summary I bought it refurbished directly from Olympus manufacture for $200+tax+shipping. It came with 90-day warranty. I don't use camera very often. When I used the camera about the 3rd or 4th time 2 weeks ago, there was no display. The screen was all black even though I can still view the pictures that had beeen taken. I have a feeling that Olympus just made the camera break at the exact right time when the warranty has been expired. I own the camera less than 6 months. I didn't even try to call for a quote from the manufacture because I know it will take forever and I will be charged a lot. So I went to a local store who would tell me the problem and give me a quote right away. It costed $100+tax to fix it. They have to replace the CCD that controls the pictures. Something like that. They also give me 6 months of warranty after fixing (more time than the orginal manufacturee). Never buy from Olympus again although I still like the design and color.

"Great small, durable camera"
on by pluggerPros size, shape, durability
Cons zoom only 2X
Summary I recently bought the Casio Exilim EX-Z750, and I am very happy with it. However, I miss this little Olympus, which my wife is now using. Like me, she loves the Verve. It fits in a pocket much better than the EX-Z750, is easier to handle, and has a much more durable and protective cover for the lens. For travelling, skiing, backpacking, fishing, boating, etc., the Verve is perfect.
Reviewers question the image quality of the Verve, and that may be a consideration for serious photographers. I've been very pleased, though, with the pictures I've taken with the Verve, which have been crystal clear on 5X7 prints and 17" screens.
This is a great, small, durable camera which I highly recommend for the active person. -
"Olympus not willing to help."
on by bmwfb2driver109Pros nice little camera,
Cons weak design, broke after 2 months, lens took a VERY small impact hanging off my wrist, the lens wouldent retract any more, Olympus wouldent help me out at all...
Summary Olympus wants to charge me $136 USD's to repair the gear that came out of track (for a camera that cost 200 USD)... Olympus also dose not want to send me the part THAT IM WILLING TO PAY FOR and do the work myself. I talked with customer support they said i should get a warranty not to worry just write a letter how it happend and their "certified engineer" will review it and and compare it to the camera... this was 7 months ago, and i still havent gotten my camera back... if you are willing to deal with poor customer support then this brand of camera is great, for those of you who are NOT willing do deal with poor customer support this brand of camera is NOT right for you. I dont think i will buy another Olympus product again becuase of weak design and poor customer support.

"Excellent Camera"
on by belmexPros No viewfinder, small, reliable
Cons none i can see
Summary I have seen many low ratings for this camera, but I can tell you I own one and it has been a great purchase for me, battery lasts long, you do have to purchase at least 256MB memory like any other available camera so you can really take advantage of image resolution and good prints, not having a viewfinder might seem like a disadvantage but allows for shots like a camcorder since you can see what you're picture is going to be like from arms length, it has a lot of pre-settings that improves pictures in any situation (you have to use this and good pics are guaranteed) and finally... people.. you have to take care of your camera, ANY camera will break or malfunction if you're not careful
