Pros Easy to learn, easy to use. Takes great photos. Lots of presets (love the diorama) but you can go crazy on your own as well. AWESOME in low light situations.
Cons Battery charges "in camera". You can buy the charger adapter separately, but it would have been nice to throw that in the package.
Summary I'm not sure why the reviewer didn't like the photo quality...mine is wonderful. Not quite DSLR of course, but the best I've seen for this size/style of camera. CNET Asia speaks very highly of the photo quality, especially the RAW images. The DPreview website rates it higher than the Canon S95 and the Pansonic Lumix LX5 and gives it a Gold rating; I would concur with that rating (in my humble and unprofessional opinion) more than this one. Of course, the reviewer here at CNET does this for a living, so maybe it's me who's a bit off. I would simply recommend that if you are considering this camera, read some other reviews to get a better perspective. I couldn't be happier with my choice.
Pros this Fast lens yields brillently sharp and detailing images I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE REVIEWER SAW BUT ITS NOT WHAT I OR OTHER USERS EXPERIENCE i have had mine a few to compliment my Dslr kit (canon 5d2 and 50d plus 5 L and 15-85 efs lens) so i think i'm qua

Summary Truly a wonderful lens and camera combination. I have a longer, more detailed review on http://www.iphotocourse.com/olympus-xz-1-digital-camera-review for folks who are on-the-fence.
Pros Super sharp glass. I own both the XZ-1 and S95 and the XZ-1 out performs in color reproduction and sharpness. Picture quality is near DSLR. Great travel companion and really good performance. I have no problem shooting quick objects or people. Really
Cons Panorama function works about 30 percent of the time. Battery life is poor.
Summary Really good compact camera. If you want something that is small and shoots great pictures this is it. Can be paired with a DSLR that has a long lens on it no problem. Worth the money.
Pros Photo quality. Art effects on photos.
Cons Movie quality. AVCHD format would probably work better. Higher ISO is not as good for photos.
Summary Great photos with DSLR quality at low ISO settings. Movie quality not too good.
