Summary: I actually need assistance with this camera. I am a novice to the photography world. Just purchased this for Christmas and began taking pictures of my 7 month old. She likes to move a lot and no matter what setting, even with image stabilization on, I can't seem to figure out how to get a good picture. Can someone help? Otherwise I'll be returning this thing pronto....

Pros: very easy to use. Love the way the menu is set up with each setting having it's own explanation. Great for beginners!!!
Cons: indoor pictures particularly those involving movement are very dissapointing
Summary: First impressions of this camera were great. Loved the style, and the way it felt in my hands. A nice light weight, battery life was good. In my search for the perfect camera I have looked at pretty much every make and model out there and have not found one that is easier to manuver through. I really like the way the menu is set up with an explanation for every setting. There was absoulutely no delay in taking pictures.
My problem with this camera is it's indoor pictures. They were very disapointing!!!!! Any movement what so ever created blurring. Still shots indoors were discolored, pixelated and very noisy at all iso levels. If you have children this is NOT the camera for you. In the 5 days I had this camera, I took over 250 shots of the kids experimenting with all appropriate settings and functions. I do not have 1 good indoor shot!!! This was very disapointing, because there was just so much about the camera that I loved.
Having said that if you are in the market for a camera that does great out door scenic shots, this is a great camera.
I have returned to camera, and recieved a full refund. After I showed the sales person my pictures there were no questions asked as to why I was unhappy. The picures spoke for them selves. -

Pros: Good indoors shots with flash
Cons: Overall picture quality was bad.
Summary: I bought this camera from costco before my cruise to Alaska. I wanted to replace my Canon G4 because it did not have bigger optical zoom.
I wish I had taken my G4 instead. The pictures from FZ7K had lots of noise in it. Indoor shots with flash were very good, but outside shots of scenery very grainy, I did not use digital zoom on any pictures but the photos looked like I had been using digital zoom.
I retured the camera as soon as I got back from my trip.
I will be buying Canon S3 IS. I have been very happy with my G4. -

Summary: Tested the camera indoors, and outdoors. During the day, and after sundown. Gave this piece of garbage every oportunity to show me it was worth what I paid for it. Here's what I found...
I had this camera for one day and there's no way I'm keeping it another day.
There's a lot of noise in images when shooting indoors, even in well-lit (Florescent lighting) indoor situations. The shots also suffer from poor detail definition (fuzzy), particularly along edges of objects. ALso, images indoors were grainy. Outdoor shots weren't as bad, but I think that's because the ambient light saturation was blowing out the image flaws, making the image appear to be clear. But the shots didn't look stellar...not in the least. In fact ourdoor shots actually look better from my cheap sony Cybershot. To me, it feels like I paid 400 bucks for a generic camera with generic optics. Nice features, and a GREAT LCD screen. But for what the camera is meant to do--take pictures==I'd rather use my cellular phone to take pictures than this piece of trash. I really tried to love this camera. But I find it easier to love swallowing crushed glass. Skip this one, folks! !
