"What! No Optical Viewfinder?"
Pros: W/O being able to see through the lense how do you take pictures in bright sunlight?
Cons: $900+ for a camera no more functional than a thin in the pocket camera aimed using a screen which I cannot see in sunlight. And, its neither waterproof nor resistant to dropping.
Summary: I don't like it!

if you really need a viewfinder, the panasonic G1 has almost the same innards plus your viewfinder. your "no more functinal than a thin pocket camera" remark shows you are not only not an user, but also COMPLETELY ignorant when it comes to photography. a big sensor, interchangeable lenses and RAW will blow the hat off any waterproof, skockproof slim pocket camera you may be comparing it with.

I take it you're not a USER of the camera; and this being an area for USER review's I'm wondering what's driving your post.

Why does the camera industry seem to think that nobody wants or needs optical viewfinders (built-in, not a jury-rigged add-on!). Sunshine is just one problem necessitating them. There's also those who wear progressive or trifocal lenses who cannot comfortably use the LCD preview screens with ease.
I've been enthusiastic about the Lumix offerings but have not bought one for this very reason. Nkon is just as bad, with only two or three models with optical viewfinders (higher priced at that) out of dozens . Canon at least has recently offered several choices, but still all manufacturers should offer a viewfinder-equipped pocket digital camera in every price bracket, not just the most expensive!
