"It's All About The Optics"
Pros: Panasonic has done their homework. This camera is an exceptional buy - the Leica optics makes this an extraordinary value.
Cons: People with Huge Hands may dwarf the camera - the frames per second in RAW.
Summary: The Leica kit lens makes this camera a steal @ $1,055! I've since upgraded to the Leica 14mm-150mm lense. Which has proved to be a HUGE upgrade.
Having shot with both the L1 and the L10 - I was skeptical of the L10 because size matters to me. I have huge hands and tend to be a clumsy button basher - accidently changing buttons and settings when my fingers brush against tightly packed buttons and knobs on the smaller camera bodies... - thus far this has not been a big concern.
Panasonic has adopted the four thirds system, which has given me a wider variety of optics to choose from -Olympus, Sigma and of course Leica all make lenses for the four thirds products.
In my opinion, Leica optics, historically- continue to drive the standard when it comes to producing world class imaging products.
This heavily weighed upon my decision to purchase the L10. Thus far, this pro-sumer has not been disappointed.
