Summary: A 7.0 ?!!! Compared to what? Judged along side cameras in this price range with similar features THIS CAMERA ROCKS! I’m not a professional photographer, just a little above average when it comes to cameras and photography and this is by far the best digital camera I’ve ever owned. I’ve used it about 2 weeks now and if you can’t tell I’m very impressed. What’s not to like? Great lens, 10x optical zoom w/28mm wide angle, IS, beautiful 3” LCD, it even has a built in lens cap, and its best feature – it’s a compact camera! TZ doesn’t stand for Travel Zoom for nothin’. This is the perfect camera to put in your fanny pack when you’re on a trip. I love CNET but they got it wrong this time. And for all its upgrades it only gets a measly +0.4 points compared to the TZ1? Nothing’s perfect but the TZ3 comes close.

How good is the visibility of the LCD in bright sunlight since there is no view-finder? Is it better than most or the same as most LCD screens are basically impossible to use outdoors.
Report this postThis is really super camera with 10 optical zoom!!! High quality pictures including far subjects. Image stabilization really works fine and minimum rating that camera deserves is 9 out of 10.
Report this postI own the Canon G7 and since 3 weeks the TZ3. Yes I agree with you, the TZ3 is not perfect ...nor the G7 but the TZ3 is close to be perfect if you need quite good lenses, big zoom range , a camera small enough to put the TZ3 in a shirt pocket (not in the jeans pocket otherwise when you sit down.......
Report this postThanks for the helpful 1st owner review, cpc710. I own the FZ1 an FZ7 Lumix superzooms, and this TZ3 will be my next likely Lumix. If this camera keeps the traditional Lumix noise problem under control, as the editor mentions, then such a compact camera with 10x (yes, TEN TIMES!) zoom that starts at the WIDE 28mm equivalent, and with Panasonic's excellent optical image stabilization, is in a class by itself. I expected a 7.5 rating based on the editor's points.
