"Fantastic Camera! Everyting you want, easy to use and Spactacular Photos!" on by RL Shade
Pros: Can do just about everything a $1600 DSLR can do. READ THE MANUAL!!!
Cons: Wish it had a view finder, However, I understand why one isn't present.
Summary: First, READ THE MANUAL! Don't blame the camera for your failing to read the manual which does an excellent job of describing all of the camers's capabilities. Once you have familiarized yourself with your camera, get set to take some spactacular photographs. I used to shoot professionally, and for a small camera, I have found this camera to actually out shoot the Canon's DSLR's in most areas. One obvious area that it cannot compete is Very Fast SINGLE Shots. It can compete with the DSLR's using Burst mode - 3 frames per second.
I have also used this camera to take pictures at dusk (almost full dark) and the photo's look like they were taken 2 hours earlier - WITH OUT FLASH! Speaking of flash, I almost never use flash because of this camers's great ability to take these kinds of photographs. I recommend this camera to all my friends, relatives, and new acquainetances without reservation.
I have never experienced flawed pictures from this camera and I atribute this to the LEICA lense used on PANASONIC cameras'. AGAIN, READ YOUR MANUAL, it expains how you can take the very best pictures possible. -
"Still testing BUT a great little toy so far" on by m1943a
Pros: Macro IA mode , Size , Programs , Sharpness, outdoor shots fantastic,
Cons: No monitor protector , Small flash , No view finder
Summary: I was not at all sure about a camera made by an electronics company , but this is an exception . The Leica lens does it for me,since the picture is in the lens not the features....

"pretty happy after 2 weeks" on by jm808
Pros: Nice zoom lens for the compact size
Cons: auto white balance seems to be a little off
Summary: So far so good. I've taken mostly outdoor photos in sun, shade and with some overcast. Photos look clear. Colors look accurate. I've sent some photos for printing but haven't picked them up yet. My only issue is that the automatic white balance seems a little off. Some of the shade photos have a blue tint and some indoor photos have a red or yellow tint. When I set the corresponding white balance the pictures look fine.

"going back" on by bkhw77
Pros: very good movie quality, good zoom
Cons: too slow to focus, ie messing up exposure
Summary: I have that camera fo about a month and it is going back to Costco.
Basically at least half of the pics are out of focus, most pics overexposed and there is no consistancy - you get different quality all the time. Forget to take pics of the moving objects they will be out of focus.
Very dissapointed. -
"Great camera-have used in many situations" on by mooremath1
Pros: Travels well and get fantastic pictures with all lighting. Actually easy to use after you read manual.
Cons: No view finder
Summary: I travel abroad whenever possible and this camera goes with me every time. I can guarantee that I have a high quality picture to remember my trips. I can fit it in cargo pant pockets or just carry it by strap. Doesn't weigh much and I've been able to recharge the batteries abroad using an adapter for European power. The zoom feature has a tendency to use up the stored energy faster. Recommend not going crazy looking at your pictures frequently and playing with the zoom.
