"Perfect travel camera."
Pros: Convenient and easy to use; great for wide screen shots of landscapes, etc.
Cons: Some noise on indoor shots, less than excellent response times.
Summary: Just got back from a trip to Europe and had the best time with this camera. It offered enough options to cover any situation. It's light enough to carry all day, but has the heft of a higher end camera; it feels solid even when you're perching precariously.
If you have time to compose the shot, then this camera comes through with flying colors. If you're trying to get a complicated shot without a few seconds to really set up, you may run in to a few problems with lag and focus. My experience with walking through gardens at a villa was bliss, but the bus tour of Rome left me feeling a little let down.
I tested the video capture only once and felt it was sufficient, but have not tried the 16:9 widescreen.
I have used other Panasonic cameras (this replaced an LX-1 that fell on the floor) and almost went for the earlier TZ3 just to save a few bucks, but I'm glad I went with this model. The 10X zoom is practically effortless and it allowed me to get some great shots that would have been worthless with any lesser zoom factor.
