Pros Optical zoom for video.
Cons Inconsistent photos
Summary The scroll between video and camera is not easy to switch back and forth and the photos are inconsistent. Some will look fine and then others would be grainy. Not sure why that is happening. I have an old Canon which has video and camera placed on either end of the toggle so it's easy to switch from camera to video without looking. On the panasonic, it keeps turning so you have to look at the toggle to make sure it's on the right setting. I purchased it because of the strong review and the optical zoom for video. Once Canon has optical video zoom, i'm going to go back.

Pros 8x Optical Zoom, Leica Lens, 3" Screen for easy viewing. Quick load & shoot time.
Cons Inconsistent between shots, over exposed when set on AI 50% of the time and the other 50% poor focusing capabilities. No aperture or shutter speed setting, disappointing for the price.
Summary I wasn't pleased with the quality of the camera, the construction was acceptable (from the point of an engineer) but the quality of the output was a disappointment.
Pros Great features -- size, zoom, burst options, great speed
Cons Very disappointing photo quality, poor color, grainy, inconsistent pictures, poor image stabilization
Summary I'm disappointed to return this camera b/c I wanted the zoom and wide angle, but the pictures fall short. My pictures are blurrier than they've ever been with my old camera that didn't even have image stabilization. Also, I took two pictures back-to-back on auto mode and one came out overly white and the next was pink-colored; the camera is very inconsistent. I took a couple great pictures with this camera, but that was after taking ten and discarding nine, but on some subjects it wasn't able to capture the correct color at all.
I disagree with the high ratings -- maybe there are lots of features for the price, but for me image quality is what matters and I found this camera unacceptable.
