  • "best little pocket camera out there"
    on by yankeescrimshaw

Pros So far it seems to do everything expeted of a fine camera.. My slr now stays at home.no big bag to carry around and the zoom lens is nice.good blurr free pictures on zoom.. Leave the camera on inteligent auto.READ THE INSTRUVTIONS ON THE CD

Cons small flash limited to 10 feet ( as are the sony and nikon)..A front mounted zoom switch( just below the shutter) would help big fingers in a small space.would be nice to charge the battey while its in the camera.Panasonic hard to find at retail.

Summary When a pocket camera can replace a slr things are headed in the right direction.Ill admit i miss not having some add on's like a polarizer but keep it simple is some time better..This is my 4th digital camera in 10 years,2nd panasonic. long ago 1 megapixil was king of the hill with 256mb cards..14 mp is overkill I keep the camera set to 10, i get clearer pictures and smaller files..I use a small slave flash for indoor events in a large area..love the camera

  • "The camera was great for the first year."
    on by RSH027

Pros Small and light for all of the features it has.

Cons It appears that dust has entered the lens.

Summary I experienced the exact same issue as Plshpngn wrote about. After a little more than a year, a spot appeared on my pictures. It is clearly dust on the lens, but I can not clean it off so it must be on the inside. I have emailed Panasonic about the issue, but I am not optimistic they can offer much. Since two cameras have the exact same problem, I wonder if this is a defective design, a manufacturing problem with a specific lot build, or defective material.

  • "Dust on sensor / inside lens assembly after 1 year"
    on by Praxus1

Pros Nice outdoor shots and video

    Cons - noisy indoor pics
    - camera is junk after one year due to dust on sensor / inside lens assembly. Exact same thing happened to my friend who bought the same camera when I did!

    Summary Skip it.

  • "Dust spots show after a year of use"
    on by Plshpngn

Pros Many features and good zoom

Cons Dust enters into the lens. I used the camera for about a year, and noticed a black spot on some photos. When I tried to clean the lens, I saw that there was dust INSIDE the camera. A few months later, even more dust spots appeared on photos and most are r

Summary Do NOT buy. Works well at first, but lasts less then a year.

I sent Panasonic an email, and after waiting five days for a reply all I got was a link to find a service center. When I clicked on the link I went to a web site that had nothing but Panasonic's phone number. I called them and went to the place they told me about. The technician wasnt there because he only works part time and they wanted to charge me $35 for an estimate. What awful service!
