"Great Camera, Great Price"
4.0 starson by ajfoote79Pros: Shutter timing, 2.5 LCD, Price, Design, Much More
Cons: No Rechargable battery
Summary: I had the Pentax Optio 60. I bought it ten days ago, just before my brothers wedding. It was awful, could not take a clear picture in low light. All pictures were blurry even in plain daylight. I though I had expected too much switching from my Casio Exilim to the pentax optio 60. So I returned it today. I was at Costco Wholesale this afternoon when I found the Optio S60. $249, I had a coupon for $50 off so I paid $200. I did some research on this camera but I could not find any noticable differences between the two. Considering Costco's return policy (will return anything, anytime for any reason) I decided to give Pentax one more try.
I am very impressed by this camera. I brought it home, played with it took some pictures in the daylight, of my dogs that looked great. But I expected that much. Went in the house, took pictures of the dogs wrestling on the floor, pictures were clear, and solid... excellent. Turned off the lights and threw a dog treat in between the two dogs and took another picture, again excellent, bright, clear pictures. I like the design of this model better than the 60 (they are similar but not the same)and the larger LCD is nice as well. The manual controls are great and really give you a huge range of options. If you are considering the Optio 60, it is worth the extra money for the S60. Very happy with this purchase.

aj,
what is costco's policy on returns? I got the same deal as you. I am not happy with the slow response time to take action photos. Do you have any suggestions?
thanks,
sjn53

I haven't brought this camera yet but wanted to know if anyone used the rechargeable batteries for this camera. They hold approx 420 shots; less than the normal CR-V3 but they're reusable making them better than rechargeable AA's. If this is tru then that would make this camera a really great choice regarding battery life. Already it's got a 420 CIPA right?
