Summary: I'm only posting my personal review regarding the Canon Powershot s70 hoping that i'd be able to help anyone who is seeking to purchase this camera. It's only been a week since I've had this camera yet I haven't found any malfunctions or errors with the systems which is quite unbelievable compared to the old Canon Digital Ixus I rescently replaced. You all may ask why is it so important to have such a high megapixel camera, but, I tell you that it's worth your money since the 5 mega pixel is very common on having purple fringing on the sides just like my Digital Ixus 500. I had that camera for almost a year but was never satifisfied with the performance and its abilities to take sharp picutes. One thing, I really miss most about it was its ultra mini size but yet now, the canon powershot s70 has the classy, sophisticated, black finish look. I loved the black finish of it since the silver (metallic) was too common with all these digital cameras in the market and as you will observe that most high end cameras emboss a remarkable black coat finishing. At first, I was really disappointed since I found out that the Digital Ixus 700 just came out after I had already acquired the S70 so, I decided to go to the shop and have a look at it. I was there for almost 5 hours just browsing at it, checking the picture qualites, stability, zoom and stuff like that. I was very much disappointed with the Digital Ixus after I compared it with the pictures my camera took. Canon has still not fixed the purple fringing the lenses cause when taking pictures in the highest resolution. I mean, what is the point of getting a high end camera if you can't use the best function it holds? The Canon Powershot s70 is well worth your money but I must suggest to all you people that you immidiately purchase for yourself a much higher capacity memory card since the free 32mb mememory can only hold 6-7 pictures of 7.1mega pixel pictures. Hopefully, this review of mine has helped you have better glimpse of the s70.
