"superb picture quality" on by toybox815

Pros: superb picture quality, HDMI, full manual mode

    Cons: none so far

Summary: 8.1 megapixel camera with 5x optical zoom and nice 2.5 inch TFT LCD.
You can get a superb picture quality from this camera. One of the most interesting feature about this particular camera is HDMI(High Defination Multimedia Interface) feature which enables you to view images on HDTV. It has full manual mode which you can use to take professional pictures. Also contains many useful features such as advanced movie functions, macro, and easy direct printing function.

"One very good digita camera for the money...." on by Ricky240z

Pros: Almost everything.... especially the photo quality...

Cons: Nothing that comes to mind without being very picky... the movie files will take a "windows media classic to play bact, which is a free program!!!"

Summary: If you can find one of these buy it ... forget the professional reviews ... that pick at it for some reason... At the end of the day the pics are great and the movies are too. If you have more indepth questions just ask me "ricky240z"

"Cool Camera if you like the styling and want manual features on a small camera" on by supervanscott

Pros: style, build quality, 5x zoom, manual controls, image quality

Cons: no optical view finder, dust gets under LCD cover, 400 iso max

Summary: I like this camera a lot. It has nice features, feels solid, the layout and design is clean and attractive and functional. But admittedly it is not the best camera in its class. If you want a strictly point and shoot camera, this one is probably not for you. To get the best image quality from the L85, you will probably want to tweak the manual settings. I love the look and feel of this camera. I got it for 150.00 from Walmart before they sold out, and this included the hdmi/charging dock and remote, and a camera bag. I would not pay more than 150.00 for this camera, but that is just me. I see some people trying to sell it on ebay for about 300. Don't waste that kind of money, because there is much better technology out there for that price.

I like many of the compact Samsung cameras because they often have full manual controls and really nice designs, but from what I understand, their image quality and performance often lacks behind other brands.

"Nice camera for the price" on by gpsingh78

Pros: 5X Zoom, Easy to use for starters and enough features to keep enthusiasts pleased

Cons: No View Finder, Retro Look in the age of nifty metallic looking cameras

Summary: Good Value and Nice camera with a lot of positive points. Nice Zoom, templates to play with, lots of manual settings. I've had it for a few weeks but still get pleasantly surprised with additional things I discover.

Pic quality is surprisingly good for Samsung. Good work.
