"Nice camera to use" on by zbonf

Pros: Dual view, meaning the user can view the AMOLED screen for indoor/ people pix or switch to the decently usable EVF for outdoor/ telephoto shots. Quick, accurate AF. Adobe Camera Raw 5.7 beta does support Samsung SRW raw files and works well.

Cons: LImited buffer, can't follow focus sports/action, after making an exposure, can't adjust functions such as ISO until the green light stops blinking ( about 4 seconds )

Summary: A very nice camera for the great majority of purposes and small enough to carry anywhere.

"Rating is based on video capability not stills." on by MouseintheHouse

Pros: Large sensor (so T2i quality capababilites)

Cons: 1. Data rate at around 9 mbps ( possibly the lowest on any DSLR type). 2. Interlacing (jaggies on horizontal). 3. Weird excessive Moire on footage. 4. Jello effect excessive.

Summary: The fact that Samsung have set the video data rate so low (approx 9 mbps), they have surely reduced their chances for sales to potential buyers whom intended to use for budget film making.. Based on what has been proven capable from sensors this size from the Canon T2i, Samsung needs to recognize that these type of cameras are finding a new market in videography, because the optics literally blow away pretty much any dedicated camcorder under $3k when it comes to getting a cinematic look.... BUT the powers that be need to understand that end users need at least 24mbps data rate before they will invest in this camera for video.. The reason cameras get hacked by smart individuals is to provide (release) the potential of what the camera can do... How would stills photographers like it if this camera has the same compression applied to their photos.... The camera would not sell... Why not show some respect to video users and release the quality the camera is capable of... no need to dumb down the data rate so we can fit more on card... I would rather see 3 mins of quality uncompressed (usable ) video than have 25 mins of poor quality.
