Pros

Optical Zoom, High Quality, Big LCD Display

Cons

Turn Dial for selections, No Viewfinder, No ASR for Night Mode

The video and pictures are almost breathe-taking. And the sound is rather spectacular for it's pricetag.
The only downfalls of this device that I have found? Well, there is no Viewfinder, just the LCD. You cannot make a complete custom picture shoot, because the dial will only let you do the specific things... like no Advanced Shake Reduction for night shots... which REALLY need it.
And lastly, while you zoom in and zoom out, the mic cuts out. I believe this only happens when you are using regular alkaline batteries though. Even still... I was not pleased with that, because I use this camera for my baby's "first"s. If you get some high powered rechargeables, this is absolutely worth it!!

Pros

Pretty good image quality, several color options

Cons

If your hand is slightly unsteady and you have the flash off, images can be very blurry, lens broke within a month

Summary

* When I say lens BROKE, i mean, I accidentally dropped it on the carpet, and now I have to PULL the lens open when turning the camera on, otherwise it sticks and shuts off.

Battery life in this camera is a problem too, an average AA-battery will last you about

Battery life in this camera is a problem too, an average AA-battery will last you about two hours straight. And there can be alot of noise when you take videos.

The LCD screen is definately large and clear. However, this camera dissapointed me physically. Pictures are pretty good, but you could have fooled me with the 6.0 megapixel part, I could take better pictures with a 4 or 5.

I guess if you REALLY NEED a camera, which I do, get this. If you're looking for a professional shot for the same price, save your time. I've looked.

Works okay when it works

Excessive battery drain prevents the camera from being used

The Samsung S630 is by the worst digital camera I have ever seen because it simply doesn't work. Despite scores of complaints on online forums, Samsung doesn't seem to have any remedy to the battery issue. I have tried multiple types of batteries and the camera will not last for more than a few seconds before shutting down. From what I've seen in the forums, this is far from an isolated incidence. While I generally like Samsung products, this one is crap.

Don't be fooled by the ultra low price, if you want to get a cheap camera, you should consider a throw-away phone from Kodak before this one.
