  "These "Alpha" series are too proprietary!"

  Pros: Picture quality isn't bad
  Ok selection of lens

  Cons: Custom hotshoe--only Sony products will work and they cost twice as much
  Custom light hookup-- only Sony
  Custom lens mount--only Sony
  You end up paying nearly double for the same product just for Sony! It's not worth it!

  "Superb performance for a newbee."

  Pros: Carl Zeis lens, on board stabilizer, self cleaning when shut-off. Made in Japan.

  Cons: Little bit heavy than the competitors, Limited array of lenses.
