Pros Excellent quality pictures, amazing at this price!
Cons None that I could think of...
Summary So far I just got the camera a few days ago and compared shots taken with my nikon d3x, amazing pictures from sony, I should have bought it earlier.
Pros this camera has a incredible range of contrast adjustments. over 50 possible settings the hdr range is very powerful .even in direct sun it will still hold the deepest of shadow detail. the auto bracket can shoot in two stop steps. great for hdr .
Cons I would like to see the histogram larger on the screen. I would like the auto bracket to be customizable .
Summary as a landscape photographer the 24mpx performs wonderfully. the most important feature is the adjustability if the contrast curves. 50 possible settings. from contrast +3 , which will make images in full shade look to contrasty. to contrast-3 and hdr[dro] +5. even in direct sun this camera with the dro; hdr will hold the deepest of shadows and keep great contrast and texture in the brightest of high tones. in fact I haven?t found a contrast range ether high or low that this camera can't handle. the camera set at 13mpx is amazing with it's sharpness and low noise. great for general use.
Pros HIgh resolution
Easy to use controls
Good low light performance
Summary The reviewer's comments were a bit strange. I have never accidentally hit the intelligent preview button and i find the features judged to be lacking as not worthwhile. This a superb camera easily equal to the Canon equivalent and offering much better resolution than the Nikon D700.

Pros One aspect it seems everyone has avoided is that you can use all Minolta AF lens made after 1985 on all Sony DSLRs. This is a major selling point. The older Minolta lens are very high quality and very fast.
Cons Some desireable features found on Nikon DX3 are not included in the Sony.
Summary As I said before Sony/Minolta is the forefront of innovation. The antishake set inside the camera gave the user options.
Though Sony lens are expensive, the option to use older Minolta lens and other lens helps; especially pricewise. AS an amatuer photographer the Sony A900 fits all my needs. Although the Sony lacks a few features found in the Nikon/Cannon, it also lacks the price. Bottom line for the amatuer Sony is the best bang for the your bucks.
