"Cute little camera with horrible autofocus"2.0 starson by Biotechy
Pros: Small, powerful camera. Nice feel and very fast burst shoot mode (10 fps) with a high def video mode (and pretty decent videos). Good color, good sound on video, nice looking camera with good feel.
Cons: Seems small until you attach the lenses you'll need to really use it - then the smallness is gone. HORRIBLE autofocus - literally more than 1/3 of my simple center-focus photos are out of focus. Burst shots are often rather blurred - not good.
Summary: I bought this camera in lieu of another Canon Rebel (which I loved)or larger Nikon in part because of the burst speed (10 fps) and in part because I thought it would be nice and small. Not so with the larger lenses anyway and more than 30% of my photos are ruined due to the crappy autofocus. Although the burst mode is supposedly fast, it's completely useless for high-quality shots of moving animals and children if the legs are always blurry (and I'm pretty sure they aren't moving faster than normal kids and animals). The touch screen is nice, but I'm really missing a view-finder. Yes, I know I can buy one for even more money, but Sony, I wouldn't dream of it. After having many blurry photos from Yellowstone, followed by ruined kids surfing in Hawaii photos, I'm planning to drop this camera from a very high place, apologize to Canon for abandoning ship and buy another Rebel or D5. Very disappointing for the price.
