"very disappointed with camera and service"

Pros

light weight, has the fastest F-stop that I could find for a compact camera. This is impt when you want to get those "Kodak" moments with your grand-kids

Cons

Battery life is extremly poor, lasts me a week when I'm not using the camera. Keeps reading "reinsert memory card".

Battery life is poor. After 1 week of non-usage it's depleted. Yes it is fully charged. Sent to Sony in Laredo,TX and they said there was nothing wrong with the camera. I bought a replacement battery because it's so unreliable. After a while it started to read "reinsert memory card" I thought it was just a cheap card so I purchased a Sony card. Same thing, called TX and they said it might have to be formatted. We did this. It worked that evening then the next morning it said "reinsert memory card", furthermore the battery icon came on with a slash through it. I put a fresh battery in the night before, reinserted the memory card several times. At one point it told me there was no memory card in it. I called Sony, they wanted me to send them the camera so I did again. They called me yesterday and said there is nothing wrong with the camera, this was the technician's representative. He did not even know the problems I was having nor did he have the letter I sent with my complaints. I asked to speak to the technician, he told me I could not. Why not? Is this technician not human? I called another SONY customer support number, they told me they could do nothing if the "tecnician" found nothing wrong with the camera. Also the representative in Laredo insinuated that I must be doing something wrong.
