Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX20

CNET Editors' Take

May 25, 2012 12:44 PM PDT

Just one feature differentiates Sony's two 20x compact megazooms.

If you like the sound of the excellent Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX30V, but can live without the built-in Wi-Fi, definitely check out the DSC-HX20V.

For about $20 less than the HX30, the HX20 has no wireless receiver for sending photos to an iPhone or Android smartphone, connecting to a Wi-Fi-enabled TV for viewing, or backing up photos and videos to a computer. Fortunately, it keeps all the other nice features of the HX30 including its 20x, f3.2-5.8, 25-500mm lens; 921K-dot-resolution, 3-inch LCD; and 18-megapixel high-sensitivity Sony Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor.
