"great first time camera, and quality" on by hartman1085
Pros: amazing picture quality and features
Cons: battery life
Summary: very good camera, plenty of great features, picture quality is incredible for such a low price. the video feature is great. this is the easiest camera ive ever used, and the turn on time for the camera is only about 1 second, so when you need to act fast to take an unexpected picture, you have no problems. this camera is a steal for the price its sold at.

"Works well as a throw away recreational camera" on by kiwiloon
Pros: Light. Able to use lithium AAs for cold weather use.
Cons: Without optical view finder, difficult to hold as still as pixel resolution requires for the quality it is capable of. The view finder LED screen is difficult to see out of doors.
Summary: I bought it as an alternative to a digital SLR or the Nikon Coolpix 8400 I like for back coutry work. I needed something light for running, cycling and cross country skiing. Although it has lower resolution and the propietary batteries are poorly cold tolerant, my beloved little stainless steel brick, a Canon S100 Digital Elph will stay in my pocket while on the trails. This camera is great in my briefcase for travel and is a keeper.

"great camera, you'll be very pleased" on by msa_76
Pros: price, features, uses AA batteries
Cons: microphone not that great :-/
Summary: I bought this camera last month for just $140 at Circuit City, and have been very pleased with it so far. Images are colorful and crisp, easy to use for first-time digital camera users, compact, and it's easy to choose modes. While the videos come out spectacular, the mic doesn't seem to pick up sound all that great: quite of static. You'll have to get a memory stick, but what camera doesn't these days? Compared to what's out there at the same price, it doesn't get better than this.

"Do not buy this camera" on by RayWBama
Pros: Actual Camera looks pretty
Cons: Blurry, Fuzzy, Dark, Pictures, no-view finder, No Audio on video playback
Summary: I bought two of these as Christmas gifts, one for my wife and one for my parents. My wife opened hers first and began taking pictures right away. We soon discovered that I had purchased a couples of duds. Every picture came out blurry, fuzzy, and dark. We read through the manual and tried different settings, but the camera still took awful pictures.
We eventually gave up and returned both cameras, paid a 15% restocking and bought the Canon A540. For only a few dollars more, the difference between the Sony and Canon is night and day. Don't buy this Sony camera. -
"PLEASE DON'T DO IT!" on by soapdoc
Pros: Can take a nice photo - sometimes.
Cons: CHEAP CONSTRUCTION! Battery door specifically. Shutter lag is VERY hard to get used to especially if you're holding the camera. Using a tripod makes it much easier to handle.
Summary: I am EXTREMELY careful with all of my electronic equipment, and this camera's battery lid cracked and the camera is no longer usable after taking EXACTLY 224 photos.
I have changed the batteries about 10 times, and this happens??
PLEASE DO NOT BUY this camera at any price. This lid should NOT be make from cheap plastic, or if it is, the catch (which is what is broken on this camera) should be reinforced somehow.
SAVE YOUR MONEY - there are FAR better cameras out there!
