"A Great Camera!"
on by GadgetKing#1Pros Very clear pictures, great face detections, good battery life for the screen size, etc!
Cons Shutter speed is not the best.
Summary The camera takes really good pictures, while incorporating a bunch of cool features. The shutter speed is not the best. A lot of reviewers said that the colors were too soft and a bit noisy. Well the colors were perfect, of course there a exceptions including low light. But to fix this problem change the settings. There is not noise, again except for low light situations, and even there they aren't that bad. The menus are a bit confusing at first, but once you have been through them once, you will fly through them for the rest of the camera's life. For having such a big screen it seems funny to have such a small battery, but it really does a good job of keeping its charge. The screen is vibrant and beautiful, even outdoors. I would suggest a 2GB memory card for the camera, it has enough memory for a decent sized vacation; even at the full 10MP setting. Overall it is a great camera, and i highly recommend it!!

"really great camera.. have trouble putting it in my purse though"
on by l_nadeauPros Great design, sleek, takes ok pics
Cons touchscreen can get irritating
Summary the only thing I don't like in this camera is that when I try to put in my purse the cover tends to slide down and turn on. you also can't turn the sound off so one time a friend had been borrowing it and she handed it to me in church. I put it in my purse, it turned on, and the whole church was facing my direction not 2 seconds after

"Suprisingly great performance"
on by ninjamonkeystevePros Snappy performance, intelligent scene selection works well, zoom toggle works well, slim well built metal body feels really good in the hand and pocket, lens cover still works very well
Cons Its a touch screen device with annoying menus and confirmations, this is really the only bad thing I have to say about this camera
Summary I love this camera, for reference I have bought the Nikon S550, S600 and the Canon IS1100 prior to buying this camera. I had my dislikes about all three cameras and returned them to the store. But the Sony T300 has the best of both worlds, it has the high mega-pixels of the Nikons and the slim form factor of the Canon. It also has a robust amount of features, one of which will turn heads even if it doesn't work perfectly everytime, and thats the smile add. If someone isn't smiling you can make them smile and it truely makes your subject smile everytime when they watch your camera add a sometimes goofy smile on. I also love the fact that when recording video you can zoom in and out the full 5x. The Nikon S550 could too but the problem it had was the lens was very noisy and you could hear it work in the final video. Not so with the Sony T300. I would recommend this camera hands down to anyone looking for a sleek high zoom capable pocket camera, just be warned you will have to get used to its less than friendly touch screen interface.

"Read the reviewer's observations carefully"
on by bigmuttPros great design, fairly easy to use
Cons poor photo quality
Summary This is the third Sony T-series camera I've had, and honestly, my first one (a T-1) was better than this latest one, even though it's now four years old.
Read the editor's review carefully because most of what he says is true. The quality of the photos is pretty lousy for a four-hundred dollar camera. I'm glad I didn't get rid of my T-1 which I bought for $300 in Beijing four years ago. Too bad the cradle and other accessories of that one are not compatible with the T300.
Fun to play with and it looks cool, but I gave it to my 12 year old daughter & she's happy with it as a YouTube camera. -
"Fancy looking, poor picture quailty"
on by Wiriamu5Pros Very sleek and fancy looking
Cons Abysmal quailty
Summary I completely agree with the editors, this camera is very sleek and fancy looking, but its picture quality is abysmal. I thought it would be a nice time to upgrade to a new camera before I go on my trip and picked up this camera. When I stuck it on my tripod and took a photo, then took the same photo with my DSC-W50 (both on full automatic settings); the difference in picture quality was very obvious. The DSC-T300 image was softer and had alot of noise in comparison to the sharpness and scarcity of noise of my DSC-W50 (6 megapixel camera). In conclusion, if you want a camera that looks fancy and high tech to impress your friends, by all means get this one. If you prefer a better picture quality I recommend you look elsewhere.
