"Some cons, but I love the panoramic view" on by kkkkkkaitlyn

    Pros: -Panoramic view mode
    -HD movie quality = excelent
    -beautiful close up quality
    -14 megapixels and 10 x optical zoom

Cons: -nighttime and sundown grainy quality w/o flash

Summary: This camera is diesel. I've always been, and most likely will be a Canon fan first and foremost, but I got this camera as a graduation gift and it's really surprising how much I like it. I love the detail this camera has on close up shots. It's phenominal. In low light and nighttime hours, you will need to use the flash because pictures become grainy, but duh, why wouldn't you want to use the flash, it's dark out... haha.
Now, switching gears to the incredible panoramic view mode: omg. It's like nothing I've ever used before. I don't know if its because I'm only a freshman in college but it blew my mind the first time I saw it. But I tried going up and down, in the directio that the arrow was pointing but you can only go side to side... ah well. Can't say I didn't try!
    The HD video
It's incredible quality for such a little camera. Don't know if I've ever even used an HD video camera before but I know that I'll never go back to conventional cameras anymore. This is a very good camera for price, and dependablity...
    Makes a wonderful first impression.
If I find anything I don't like, I'll be sure to let you know. :)
    thanks

"Beautiful Sony camera" on by DegreeOfTech

Pros: Cost, 14,100,000 pixels, Panoramic Mode, Battery Life, exceptional high zoom (up to 16x shot mode + 8x photo zoom), large screen, fast load time

Cons: Weight, Grainy before shots (images are not, however), USB cord "uniqueness".

Summary: I got this very high class camera for a reasonable price of $230. Sony has not disappointed me for 10 years in a row. I have owned approximately 8 cameras by Sony, and I will keep it that way. Though images are "grainy", the aftermath of it isn't. I have searched up competitor cameras for about $40 more, and this H55 most likely does more than them. The H55 has an extensive list of features, and the same steady technology found in my current DSC-P10 and Alpha 350. This camera has a 1080i video recorder, accurate voice recorder, and a very nice battery life. I prefer the G Lens over the Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar lens only because these lens are used by professionals for professionals. This can very well be considered a "high class" camera, and as always, this camera will last about 8 years before having any major problems.
Worth the money if you ask me.

"Great point and shoot" on by Sonicstealth

Pros: Excellent picture quality; 10x zoom; Panoramic shots

Cons: Video could be better; Slow

Summary: The Sony H55 is a great point and shoot that is slow but boasts excellent picture quality with a 10x zoom with features like sweep panorama.
Sony is known for their excellent picture quality and this camera does not disappoint. This 14.1 megapixel camera shoots excellent pictures; however low light shots are a weakness because of all the noise in low light shots, but when you take picture in the daytime you will get excellent pictures. To bad the camera is slow though. This would be the biggest drawback. When you take a picture you are going to wait at least 1 second before you see the picture. The video quality could also use some work. Even though it shoots in 720p, it doesn't really look like it; however it isn't horrible.
The Sony Cybershot DSC H55 is a great camera for anyone who wants a compact megazoom for under 225 bucks.

    "Great Camera" on by MattMcLean

    Pros: Almost everything.

Cons: Battery life wasn't that great

Summary: I liked it BUT the battery wasn't up to par with my photography on vacation... Replacement batteries are expensive.
