"Best all around zoom camera!!!!!!!!!"
Pros: Large display, 7.2 MP, Supersteady shot, manual controls
Cons: Not as fast as 6.0 MP models (as seen in the review) but it really is not noticeable and you get a bigger screen and more MPs
Summary: I went to Circuit City to buy a Canon Powershot S3 IS and I couldn't do it. I handled each camera and took shots of the store zooming in on different parts of the store. The ease of use and the position of the controls won me over. The pictures looked more crisp and didn't look as dark. It is a great camera and I am glad I purchased it. The screen size is great!!!Updated
I always think reviews are subjective to who is reviewing them. Canon always gets such great reviews, and I am not saying that they don't have great cameras, but I know a few people that have S2's and one S3 that are not that happy with them. The little flip screen is cool and all but nothing beats a 3 inch screen looking at you.
I just left a soccer party where we all had out our cameras and my H5 drew a crowd. I had better quality low light pictures and I had someone with a S3 drooling over it.
My best advise is to put it in your hand and see how it feels. Then take pictures around the store looking for low light areas and examine the detail on long zoom shots. It will be hard to put down with the large screen.Updated
I found these batteries give me a lot more shots and better battery life. If you don't like rechargeables try the new Energizer lithium. If anyone else has had great results with batteries or accesories please share. Thanks

I am highly considering buying this camera. I love the first cybershot I bought (2.0MP). The negative reviews on this camera suggest that it is prone to failure. Have you seen any evidence of that? Excessive mechanical noise while not zooming? Problems with the shutter button. Have often have you used this camera since you purchased it? Any information you could give me would be quite helpful.
