"Most Bang For Your Buck!"
Pros: Large LCD, 12x zoom, excellent image quality
Cons: High noise at ISO settings higher 400
Summary: Let me start out saying that this camera has most bang for the buck. I carefully reviewed many "Mega Zoom" cameras and it came down to the Sony DSC-H5 and the Canon S3 IS. I chose the Sony because of the following:
1) Sony LCD: 3" vs. Canon: 2"
2) Sony LCD resolution: 230,000 pixels vs. Canon: 115,00 pixels
3) Sony: 7.2 megapixel vs Canon: 6 megapixel
4) Sony: 32 MB internal memory vs. Canon: 16 MB external card (which is useless for ANY new camera today)
5) Sony accessories include: battery charger, Lens hood, Lens ring adapter (minor, but nice not to have to go buy)
6) Sony: 2 NiMH batteries vs Canon: 4 NiMHs
I am not a Canon basher. In fact, I think that Canon puts out a top notch camera. I just feel that the Sony DSC-H5 gives you more for the same amount of money.
