"Very Surprised at "Editor's Rating""
Pros: Excellent everyday pictures, very quick, sturdy, honest point and shoot
Cons: sometimes slow to focus, proprietary sony products
Summary: This is mine and my wife's third digital camera in four years, and it is by far the best camera (digital or film) yet. We've had a kodak, and most recently, a nikon and both of us feel like we have really stepped up in quality. We both spent about a week researching digital cameras before our cruise and we had settled on the Cannon SD600. Had it for about four days, and my wife and I both decided that the picture quality of the cannon was very, very poor. In fact, we disliked the cannon so much that we voluntarily took the camera back to bestbuy and paid the restocking fee just to purchase the sony.
What I didn't tell you is that we had felt as though the Sony took better pictures in the store, but all reviews between the cannon SD600 and the sony dsc-w70 favored the cannon heavily. Even the store sales person said that he would take the cannon hands down.
I now disagree and would highly recommend this camera to anyone who desires to have a solid, easy to handle camera that you can feel confident using to capture your treasured memories in a split second. My wife, a moderate camera user, is in love with this device. She keeps it in her purse and we have taken almost 700 pictures on two battery charges. Enjoy.
