"REC PHOTOGRAPHERS - GOOD BUY"
Pros: The camera is really easy to use, the picture quality is great, the design/compactness/sleekness is fantastic, big LCD (for the camera size) and great movie mode.
Cons: Shutter and Auto-Focus speed in low-light, not that many camera modes, and the accesories that the camera comes with.
Summary: I bought this camera a few days ago. Originally, I intended on buying the 6 megapixel W50, but they were sold out and gave me a discount on the W70. I also bought a 1gig Duo memory stick for $60 (it has 58mb internal) and a carrying case (non included in box).
Out of the box, I was bummed that there was a battery docking station to recharge, but it's probably better as the power into the camera has, what looks like, a flimsy hinge. Some of the buttons are small, which isn't a problem for me, but may be a hassle for people with bigger fingers. So, I think the design is great, impressed with the 1g memory chip that fits next to the battery, and is a lot smaller than I anticipated.
Picture quality is great. The images are crisp and sharp, however, in lower lighting conditions some of the pictures seemed to blur, but changing the camera modes helped a lot. There aren't a lot of different camera modes, but it covers the basic and the ones most often used.
Overall, I think it's a great camera for it's design, ability to take great photos and high quality movie mode (with sound).
