"Very Good Once You Learn to Overcome Shortcomings"
Pros: Zoom, Great Flash, Stabilization
Cons: Control Dial, Viewfinder, Iso 400
Summary: I have been a very serious hobbyist in the past. Now I wanted a good camera for family, kids and the occasional landscape. Something easy for my wife to use as well. This camera has more features than you could ever ask for in a point and shoot. After my first set of photos (about 80 pics and 5 vids) I wanted to return it to the store because of an excessive amount of noise in the background (fuzzyness). I realized that on auto mode indoors, the camera chooses ISO 400 about 90% of the time and on this setting the backgrounds are worse than normal with this camera. SOLUTION: On (p) Program mode, the camera is still full auto except for any specific things you want to change. Manually setting the ISO to 100 or 200 indoors leaves a crisp background and makes me happy with my purchase. Viewfinder is junk but most people will use the lcd anyway. Control dial is small and difficult to correctly choose function you are after. Other than these three things, this camera is great. Also, Video uses stabilization too. I prefer this to my camcorder.
