"This camera deserves a better rating..."
4.5 starson by yewslusPros: Great features and switching around features; touchscreen works very well and no OS lag; quality of pictures is great
Cons: lens location in upper corner yields occasional shots of finger, onscreen redeye redux is hit/miss
Summary: This camera is a powerhouse for a point-and-shoot. On its AUTO setting, it has very good judgement in terms of lighting and focus, not forcing a flash when it can get a better picture by compensating other areas. I bought this camera primarily for my wife to take pics of our newborn baby, and I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of pictures it takes. In fact, the birth announcement photo was taken with this camera, and I am getting people asking which studio I went to.
The touchscreen is very responsive and fast, and once you get used to the flow of settings, switching them and getting back to picture taking is a breeze!
I have yet to master the art of keeping my left hand finger from creeping into the picture, as the camera is thin and any bit of finger hanging over the front edge results in a skin tone on your pic.
People bashing the camera for quality issues are apparently trying to use the same exposure for all settings. The AUTO works great but you need to switch to ISO for lowlit indoor shots.
Loving this camera. Going to have to take a good long look at the new Alpha DSLR series...seems to be the next logical step.
