"One of the greatest travel zoom cameras of all time." on by grimlok--2008
Pros: -image quality is excellent and still bests some newer offerings (it has a good quality Carl Zeiss lens and Bionz image processor)
-720p video quality is good
-10x optical zoom works in video mode as well
-has a manual settings mode
-image stabilizatiCons: -battery life (normal battery gets about 200 shots and the extended life battery bumps it up closer to 300)
-it has no dedicated video record button (have to switch modes for video)
-low light high iso capability is not the best (still not bad comparedSummary: This camera was just too good for it's time as evidenced by it's consequent rise in price after it was discontinued. I have been using this camera for 2 years and have not been disappointed. Just google some images taken by this camera and compare them to the latest travel zoom/compact cameras and you'll be surprised how the image quality still stands up and even out does many of them (including Sony's own later iterations).
This camera has been holding me back from upgrading to the MFT cameras (which have much larger image sensor's providing near DSLR performance in tiny bodies). I can't wait for it to break so I can pick up a sweet E-PL2. Maybe I'll "accidently" drop it one of these days... "Mwahahaha!"
Aside from some quibbles (focus speed, high ISO performance, and lack of a video button), this camera delivers where it counts. Image quality.
