4.0 starson by uncletyPros: Very compact yet offers a nice 2.7 LCD screen, strong flash allows for good pics in a club or dark places, dark lighting is a non issue. FINALLY able to record video and zoom in & out as needed, also good stabilization making taking pics pretty easy.
Cons: Like most sony cameras it only uses the memory stick duo memory card. Also when recording video in HD mode as expected the files are BIG, thus making extra work to edit and cut down to smaller size to upload or send/email to family and friends.
Summary: I am very satisfied with my new DSC-W350 so far, the ability to zoom in & out during video recording alone makes it worth the minor extra 10 to 20 bucks more than W290. I brought it with to take pics at a bar for a friends birthday party and took great pics, dark lighting is irrelevant!!! I had a DSC-S750 prior to this camera and it was awful (bad stabilization, bad pics, cheap video, etc) and almost turned me off from sony cameras in general. Thankfully Sony appears to have worked all of that out and made a really GOOD camera in the DSC-W350 for a price that is not insanely expensive.

You state that this camera only use memory stick duo memory. That is not correct. It can also use SD/SDHC media.

One thing that I'd like to point out in regards to your "Cons:" that happens to be inaccurate. This camera does in fact allow for the use of SD/SDHC cards, not just the memory sticks. Other than that, I must agree.
