"The 'key specs' units are a MESS!"3.0 starson by GianMarco_Tavazzani
Pros: The good will
Cons: The ignorance and the lack of respect for not professional people using their obsolete slang, unable to change, evolve.
Summary: Let's start by the dimensions and weight: only u.s.a. and Liberia still uses this units. I'm not a racist, you can be also a creationist but I'd like a bit of more respect for the rest of us who is 3 centuries ahead and have ALSO metric units.
The sensor size then is COMIC: 1/X.xx (beside the unit) is already funny, say CRAZY, but then DIAGONAL? is discouraging!!
The lens? are in mm!!!! I should be grateful, but what about the u.s.a/Liberian people? Does they know what mm are? I hope yes, some of them, at least, but IF YOU STARTED WITH A LANGUAGE, then? be so good to end with it putting coherently in brackets the equivalent premodern units value, as (and we all appreciate it) the '35 mm equivalent length' (but also the REAL length would be appreciated.
Macro: whatever 'inches' and 'feet' means, if you stat with one of them, end with the same, not "0.4 inch (Wide); 1.6 feet (Tele)", forcing people to pull out a calculator to have an idea about the ratio.
Is a matter of mentality: this is a camera for the folk, not for pro who are using a slang and knows by mind all others previous competitors values!
All this said with the desire to make more readable and useful a review that under many other aspects is really enjoyable and deserves to be read without scaring or repulsing normal people with a normal culture at worldwide standards as back ground, or the cameras and their reviews will not reach the large audience which only can FORCE producers to build better cameras and not bet on our (partial) ignorance of what we're buying looking only at brands, look, price and 'advices of (paid??) gurus.
In other words, let's have the advantages of the democracy and not the disadvantages of the religions!
