Pros: small, neat packaging, quite

    Cons: doesn't do much..

Summary: It doens't do a whole lot for the money (299), add a 100 dollars and you could get a mini supercomputer that does everything Apple TV does and a lot lot lot more. Unless you find having an Xbox (or even a PS3) in your living room intimidating, this is not money well spent.

I stream music, photos, and videos wirelessly, hell i even buy some TV episodes off xbox live. You could just buy a mac mini and plug it into the back of an HDTV's pc port.... apple t v. is useless waste of 300$

One, Apple TV isn't meant to complete against XBox 360 or PS3. Those machines has the horsepower they have to high end gaming consoles. Apple TV is a "stationary iPod".

Two, Apple doesn't general release products at prices that are lower than the cost to design, build, and market them. And to state the ob

Three, I'm actually considering buying an PS3 was they support DVD upconversion. I then have both devices since my Apple TV just arrived today.

The 20 GB HD in Xbox 360 is too small. 12 GB's already gone with junk and OS. DL additional content will erode available space significantly.

Sure you can connect to Win Xp or Win Media OS and stream? I have yet to try this.

I have an Apple Computer and also the XBox 360. I think the 360 is a credible competitor. I know when MS releases bigger HD's for the 360 I'll be shelling out big $$$$$$ to upgrade (currently a 20GB module costs $99 from MS. Talk about Apple being a rip off.).

The Apple TV is an interesting product. When it DL's from the internet movies and acts like a DVR it'll be awesome.-

Is this a commentary or a review where the product actually has been used?

Thank you!! About time someone points out the obvious. Everything Apple makes is just a bunch of over-hyped, over priced junk.
