Summary: and apparently with .net 1.1 either. I managed to get it to work but at some point windows must have updated to .NET 1.1 and I didn;t realize it. That was the end of this. tech support is BS for this product. they don't have a clue. tried to demand a refund for a product that does not work and THEY HUNG UP ON ME! now I have another piece of junk collecting dust. Do yourself a favor and try a different product.

If Windows Update updates the .Net1.0 to 1.1 you can run the fix that is included on the installation CD that came with the device. Additionally you can turn off that specific update so WU never updates that component again. With regards to the firewall issue: I have Symantec 2006 Internet Suite and have configured it to allow the 2 processes related to this device ( look at the Task Manager ) inbound and outbound trafic thru the Symantec firewall. Additionally make sure the Windows Firewall service is disabled. Works great and I have had no issues with XP SP2 (which uses the .Net 1.1)
