Summary: Received my Roku, set it up and watched it for approximately 1 hour. When I awoke the next morning, it was dead. Called the Customer Support line and was asked numerous questions in broken Engish about my care and feeding of the device. After an extended period of being of hold at least three times, they decided to send me a new power cord. That took 5 days to arrive. Tried it out immediately; the Roku was still dead. Called a second time, was again queried closely and at length, in broken English, about the device. After another period of reflection and being put on hold for extended periods, they decided to send me another Roku which should arrive in three days, at least.
My sense is that its good to set aside sufficient time in your calendar for these calls before buying a Roku. Nothing in Heaven or Earth can persuade them to vary from their script or to not place you on hold for ages, at least twice.
I hope the replacement they send to me works--I quail at the thought of having to call them yet again. My vacation time is about used up.
