Sharp has once again demonstrated its mastery of LCD technology by developing the LC-15PX1U, an advanced PC card-compatible AQUOS Liquid Crystal Television, setting the stage for the next-generation entertainment device for home networking and convergence. The new Open AQUOS LC-15PX1U is evidence of Sharp's conviction that the TV is the audio/video focal point for the home network. You can watch, pause, and record live TV shows using only the included 5GB HDD card, and without a separate set-top box. The TV connects wirelessly to any Microsoft Windows 98 or greater Wi-Fi enabled home network system, allowing you to share images and music from a computer, using a compatible off-the-shelf PCMCIA WiFi card. Other features include the ability to play games such as Solitaire, view digital photos, and play music from a digital library. The PCMCIA PC Card slots support removable HDD memory and wireless networking cards in the most popular formats, including SD Card, SmartMedia, MultiMediaCard, CompactFlash and Memory Stick .1 And, with the built-in microphone, you can record and play back audio messages. As always, the picture quality of the AQUOS is unmatched in the industry. The proprietary Advanced Super View panel with Black TFT low-reflection coating continues to provide the best levels of brightness, contrast ratios and viewing angles available today.
