Pros I mainly wanted to stream directly from my TiVo to my iPad and iPhone. TiVo Stream does this with absolutely great quality. It's a nice bonus to be able to transfer shows that I can take with me on the go. Excellent integration with the TiVo App.

Cons Has to 'record' to watch a 'live' stream.

Summary Much more responsive than the slingbox since it ties directly to the TiVo.

Pros - Seamless integration with iPad TiVo app
- Flawless streaming of content with easy progress bar to instantly move to any location in the show/movie
- Can stream multiple streams on multiple devices using the same TiVo Stream box.

Cons - Does not work away from home
- Wish it didn't record the live show you want to stream, but it's a minor gripe

Summary I have a slingbox, but it is not easy to control a TiVo from a Slingbox.

With the TiVo steam, although limited to the same network the TiVos are in (ie home), it works flawlessly to steam my content, and is seamlessly integrated to the TiVo iPad app. It does not replace my Slingbox, but adds to it. Love it.

Pros Streaming works well, and downloading shows is convenient.

Cons Depending on cable provider, downloading may be restricted due to copy protection. Comcast blocks premium channels, though other providers may restrict more

Summary A good way to take shows for traveling, and streaming adds additional screens for the house. However, check your cable provider before deciding if its worthwhile.

Pros none that come to mind! Its THAT bad!

Cons having designed UI's before - this one is TERRIBLE.
-too many button pushes to do things
-non-intuitive paths to what you need to do, poorly designed
-WAY too slow
-the "watch a program recorded on one in another room" simply is not useable.

Summary After having used DISH for a number of years (at the time living in the sticks satellite was the only option) I went to this through Suddenlink to have a bundle. I also wanted to avoid the annoying signal lose when there's a heavy storm with DISH - BIG MISTAKE. I'll go back to DISH as its equipment is SO much better designed - much more intuitive. The TiVo is poorly done, slow slow slow, non-intuitive actions. Strange "reactions" to button pushes with strange commands (confirming stuff where confirmation is entirely unnecessary for example) and on and on. As a software designer of User Interfaces - ones that are designed to be intuitive and easy to use by the END USER - this one is clearly not thought out as such. We'll be moving soon to a new place that is being built - at that time I'll go back to DISH which has MUCH better equipment. I'll put up wiht the infrequent signal lose due to storms instead of dealing with this bad system day in and day out.
