Summary The main reason I purchased the TiVo Stream was to be able to take my recorded tv shows with me on vacation on my iPad. The TiVo Stream does this and more! I love being able to sit outside on my deck and stream shows from my TiVo in the living room. I have Comcast (Xfinity) Performance Internet and I have not experienced any issues with streaming at all. Downloading a 30 minute show to my iPad takes about 15 minutes and the video quality on both of these features is great! I really couldn't be more pleased. There were disclaimers on the TiVo site saying that some shows are copy-protected and couldn't be streamed, however, I have yet to find something I can't download or stream. The only negatives I can think of are that initially I had a little trouble after downloading 1 or 2 shows. On the second or third show, the Stream seemingly bogged down to a snail's pace and I would have to re-start it. That was within the first week or so and I haven't experienced this issue again. (I've had it about a month now) Also, it is worth noting that many people (or maybe just me) have their TiVo hooked-up wirelessly to their network. The Stream must be wired to your TiVo and the TiVo itself must be WIRED to your network. An easy enough fix because I just purchased a second Apple AirPort Express and put it right next to my TiVo. However, this added to the cost. Trust me though, for the convenience, ease-of-use, features and quality, it was totally worth it. Plus, it extended my network within my house which is never a bad thing. I highly recommend the TiVo Stream!

on by dw0199Pros Watch TV whenever/wherever I want. I love the flexibility of taking it outside. I also downloaded a week's worth of shows to take with me on a business trip - sure beat watching whatever happened to be on at the hotel.

Summary I wanted to have some more flexibility in how I watch my shows. In the summer I want to be outside as much as possible and into the evenings. However, sometimes I get tired of reading and just want to watch some TV. Now I can still be outside and watch newly recorded shows any time I want. Absolutely love it!!!

on by Jeff_WrightPros 9/6/2012 and I love the ability to pause playback on the TV and then continue on the iPad. I also really enjoy the ability to download shows and take them with me on my iPhone or iPad for viewing on the plane or while on vacation!
Cons The ability to also Stream to the Mac or Apple TV from the TiVo Stream would be a useful feature to add!
Summary This was great for my recent excursion to Hawaii with a 5 hour plane ride both ways. Not only could I watch my shows but I could even delete the shows from the DVR using the TiVo app. This allowed me to free up valuable space on my DVR to record more programs.
I even have Slingbox Pro Solo and didn't end up using it once on either of my recent trips. The content I had in my TiVo app not only was of higher visual quality but also I had enough saved content that the Slingbox was not even needed!
If you are someone who travels often or even commutes the TiVo Stream is a great addition. You can quickly download your shows on your home network and be off on your next adventure in as little time as 15 minutes! -

Cons None - It just works.
Summary We recently "cut the cord" and ditched cable TV. Our TiVo Premiere and TiVo Stream provide all free TV entertainment we could ever need. The TiVo Stream and TiVo App for iPad are "gotta' have it" accessories - they let us enjoy our shows throughout the house on an iPad. The streaming performance is excellent and easy to use. We also appreciate the ability to *easily* load shows on to the iPad for viewing on the road. With convenient TiVo access on the iPad, we're get a lot more value out of our Premiere - While I would never fire up the TV in the morning, I'm frequently catching up on late-night TV on the iPad during breakfast. If you own a TiVo Premiere and an iPad, you *HAVE* to get a TiVo Stream - It is, by far, my favorite "feature" of our TiVo setup.
