Pros Great Concept - "Sorta" works
Cons I could not find ANY support for this product - no phone numbers that worked, no email support, no replies to forum posts - nothing. And I cannot get the software to find and connect to the unit in a way that lets me configure security/internet, etc
Summary The unit DOES send a wireless network signal, and I can connect to it with standard wireless networking software. Unfortunately, the included software will not find it and connect in a way that lets me use all the software options. There is a "manually connect" button. If I am already connected to the wireless network associated with the unit, clicking on this button does let me send my screen to the unit - but not configure anything, or adjust anything, and it only works over wireless, not ethernet. (It should let me do either one.) Worse yet - it seems that no support is offered by anyone. VisonTek does show the product on their web site, but no downloads are available, no phone support is offered, no email support, no replies to my forum postings - nothing. I do not recommend this unit until / unless VisionTek decides to support it.
Pros Streams well, be patient, takes time to connect to TV box and use it like a hot-spot for surfing while connected.
Cons No drivers for win 7-64 bit. Drops connection sometimes, give it a couple of minutes, it usually comes back on.
Summary I had to install in the other room where I have an XP system. There are no 64 bit drivers. I use a wireless mouse to control it from in front of the TV. Or I use "Log Me In" to control from my laptop It has provided us with hours of Graboid movie watching. and other big screen computing. Don't expect the rez to be better than the TV you are using.
