Summary: With the first couple of firmware updates after buying two WDTV Live Plus units, we got increased functionality and smoother media playback. However, the latest firmware updates have been disastrous. Refusing to play files that were never a problem before, stuttering playback, losing network connectivity, refusing to find network connected media storage after reestablishing a network connection, ridiculously long waits for media to start playing (that did not occur before) and general freezes and hangs. A year ago, I would have whole-heartedly recommended this unit. Now, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. And to make matters worse, WD's own forums are full of these stories and they don't seem too concerned with any fixes.
