"Nice picture quality - when it can display the picture"
Pros: Nice picture quality; plug & play; timer
Cons: Difficulty displaying some pictures; Weird aspect ratio
Summary: It was said in a previous review, but I agree; because of the weird aspect ratio, you would need to crop your pictures beforehand to make sure that what YOU want displayed gets displayed.
The main problem I have with this camera is that it has difficulty displaying some images. It has NOTHING to do with mega-pixels; Kodak's tech support is saying it's because of me using a non-Kodak digital camera. I use a Canon Digital Rebel. They suggested to first bring up the image via MS Paint, or their Kodak EasyShare software, then save the image. I tried that, and I still have the issue. My frame is running firmware version 2007.2.11. I see on their website that there's a newer version, so I'm going to give that a try before I return this. Right now, I only have 60 pictures loaded. Each "rotation" of images yields at least 4 bad ones. Not a very good percentage.
In summary, I don't mind the aspect ratio issue too much. As long as your picture has what you want to see near the middle of the image, you'll be ok. However, the bad display is unacceptable. I have the PC saavy to edit pictures. However, we gave this same from to my 70 year old parents. They're the "plug it in and watch it work" type people.Updated
On my previous frame, it would not let me upgrade the firmware. We finally exchanged the frame for a new one (same model). That one is working fine so far.
