Pros Excellent analog image quality, brightness control, easy to use, includes three frame color options
Cons Needs motion detector
Summary I purchased and returned four digital frames from different manufacturers before I found this Westinghouse unit. It does everything you need without a remote, easy to use and durable (runs 24/7). Other units I owned failed in less than thity days or were too difficult to use.
If this unit had a motion sensor it would be perfect.
Pros Inexpensive, easy to use
Cons many images cannot be displayed
Summary As the user guide says:
"The Digital Photo Frame only supports JPEG in its raw picture format.
These are pictures that come directly from a digital camera as a JPEG file.
The Digital Photo Frame may not read images that have been manipulated
or altered in Photoshop or downloaded from the Internet. Many of the
movie formats downloaded from the Internet are not supported as well."
This does not begin to explain the frustration of seeing the message:
"! Format Not Compatible"
And trying over and over to edit the picture to try to make it "compatible"!
Pros easy to use, plug and go
Cons picture quality is good but not great
Summary I am buying this frame for my wife for Valentines Day and I can't say that I can complain too much. I am sure that she will think it's really cool. The picture quality is not the greatest and can appear pixelated in certain photos. It takes pretty much all the memory sticks out there so it's compatible with almost anything. This frame comes with interchangable frame covers so that is cool. Also the pictures will fade differently from picture to picture (it's a setting) so that is cool also (dissolve, fade, burst, etc).
Overall, it's not the best frame out there but it's a good beginner frame and a great gift for someone who isn't looking for the best thing out there.
