"Idea is great of a Digi cam + 20gb Mp3 Player" on by 1337

Pros: Nice screen, Touching is Good, EQ nice feature

Cons: Battery Life, Low quality photos but not bad

Summary: I really love the M:robe. At 500$ it is not worth the money but i picked mine up from circuit city for only 200$. I figured i cant lose. The moment i took it out the box i was pretty amazed. It looks so nice. People will envy your M:robe. The screen is very visible and sharp. On the other hand, the screen eats your battery. If you leave your screen on while u play music. ull get 2 hours. Ya that bad but you can turn ur screen off and conserve your battery. As i said, the camera a low quality but its not that bad. It takes ok stillshot photos. Touching the screen is a really nice feature. Dont buy this becuase it is a digital camera. Think of it this way, it is a mp3 player that happens to have a digi cam. So this is for those moments that you say to urself dang, i wish i had a digi cam to catch that. This is whats it for. Overall it is really nice. I picked mine up from circuit sity for 200 and bought a warranty that alst 2 years. In that two years, if it ever breaks i could jsut return it and they will give me my 200$ back so this i consider this a good buy.

"Works great for me" on by GuestUser999

Pros: Plenty of room for music

    Cons: Camera isn't very good

Summary: I like the Camera. It can take some very artistic pics. It's just not a high quality (resolution) camera.

The music side of the house is just fine. More than enough room for everything I have and then some.

    "Beats Ipods" on by kremlin911

Pros: Touch screen, good storage, looks cool, plays good quality music

Cons: picture quality only 1.2 megapixs, sync with computer is dumb, touch screen can get old.

Summary: I got this product brand new about four months ago and it has treated me great. The pictures it takes arn't the greatest, they are 1.2 megapixs so nothing surprising. i wouldn't use it for a camera, but you can store pictures on it and make slideshows with music and play it on a tv. The mtrip music manager makes it hard to manage music. you cant get rid of any of the music on the playlist otherwise next time you sync without the music it delets the music from the player. you have to delete the music from the hard drive of the computer itself. with itunes you can just turn that option off. plus you cant access the player itself through mtrip, which means if you want to find out if you have a song you have to find it on the player by searching through manually. The user freindlyness of it is not as nice as an ipod. i thought that the touch screen would get annoining but if you are nice to it it isn't so bad. the battery life is maybe 7 hours. my biggest beaf with it is that the mtrip music manager makes it diffictult to do things. however i would still get it over an ipod anyday. in the four months i had it, my brother sent his ipod 60gb in twice to get repaired (he has sent it in a total of five times), my freind sent his ipod video in once (after he had to send it in when it didnt work pulling it out of the package) and i have had two ipod mini's go bad.

"found this product to be great, the software to load music and photos very easy to work with" on by ednorz

Pros: photos loaded from another camera look great ,the photo music mix function is very impressive

Cons: size not really a pocket model, crashed a couple of times, price unless you find a good sale

Summary: I like the mrobe, the software made it very easy to load a cd collection although a little slow, photos on the large screen look great almost as large as a snapshot so I load photos into it instead of printing them.It crashed on me a couple of times but I opened it up to disconnect the battery for a few seconds or let the battry run down to reset it.The photo music mix is great shows photos better then snapshots.the included rca output cable is great to hook into a stereo and play your whole collection I use it now instead of a 50 cd changer. I also use it in my car with a cassete adapter I bought at bestbuy I put it on shuffle and enjoy thousands of my tunes on the road

"Good player, but also has some flaws" on by ntc25

Pros: digital camera, touch screen, can create slide shows on player, remote control is cool, good hard drive size for price

Cons: slow in scrolling through songs, software is average at best, freezes on occasion, short (4-5hrs) battery life, can't listen to music and photograph simultaneously

Summary: Its a good player for people looking for the IPod alternative. It takes pretty good resolution digital pics, but the lighting must be good. You can create slide shows directly on the player and on the software. The touch screen is cool and backlit so you have no problem seeing the screen in the dark. Its relatively easy to take care of and I know because mine is still working and I've dropped it several times. Whenever you pull it out lots of heads turn, the camera is really the coolest feature. It is a good player, but there are a few drawbacks. The software, m:trip, is the only way to get songs on to the player. M:trip doesn't take mp4, or ACC files so you can't take music from say Itunes and put it directly into the m:robe software. It only takes mp3 and WMA and associated files so that means you won't be able to get as many songs on the player as you would one that supports mp4 (cause mp4s are smaller). And you'll have to rip all of your cds with either m:trip or Windows medida. The only way to charge it is on the base. The manual says that it charges when attached to the computer, but I've never seen it happen. The battery life isn't very long, but the backlight and the camera is very draining. Its not the fastest in scrolling through song lists, or from song to song, or going from music to camera, so this player takes a bit of patience. But for me, it was really good. I paid $200 and got a 30Gb player with a camera which allows me to consolidate my electronics. I hope this dissertation (lol) on the m:RObe 500i has been helpful :)
