"Eye-turning camcorder / digital camera" on by f51
Pros: Excellent low-light recording. Ultra-compact size. Fast video start time. Ability to record both still and video simultaneously.
Cons: Absolutely None
Summary: This camera is a head-turner. I was able to get a belt holster for it and I keep it with me almost always. It comes out of standby mode and begins recording video clips in less than 2 seconds. Low light, previously a problem with products in this category, is very very good. Each video clip or still image is recorded as a separate MPEG file or JPEG file on the same card. Very easy to locate clips based on date and time. Transfer time to the computer (note: I use a high-speed USB 2.0 SD card reader) I can transfer an entire gigabyte of still images and video in about 5 minutes. Entire camera can be controlled with just one thumb and camera is easily held in a "pistol grip" method. This product looks great, feels solid and takes phenominal still images and videos. Oh, and it weights less than 1/2 of a pound. You'll shoot more with this than a mini DV since it will be with you more!!

"It is a very good hybrid camcorder and camera" on by hymancnet
Pros: video, photos, turn-around LCD, light-weight
Cons: no major cons
Summary: I really like this camera/camcorder. The photo and video quality are decent. I replay the video in my 36" TV and it looks great.
I paid about $380 for this camera and very happy with it. I was planning to get the HD1, but it was almost double the price and at this point, I can do it without the HD qulity and 10x zoom from the HD1. -
"Fantastic all rounder" on by mbyrnes
Pros: Portable, precise, great pics and video
Cons: Battery has to be charged in camera
Summary: Got this a while back and so far so good. It does exactly what it says it does. Its small and compact but full of clever little ideas. The menu's I thought would be a nightmare but after 5 mins I had it sorted. It even talks to to you to remind to to do certain things. Its got 6.4 Mpixel and a great 640X480 video capture. If you want fantastic pics, buy a SLR. If you want super cinema quality video, buy a top of the range camera. If you want a really good hybrid to take anywhere without the bag of essentials then this is the camera for you.

"Suprising little camera" on by tomh
Pros: Great low light, very good stills, mac friendly, perfect size
Cons: weak flash, funny lens cap
Summary: I wound up being very impressed with this little camera. It's so small you can take it anywhere. I was astounded when I saw how clean the low light video was; you don't expect that from something so small. The little Mpeg4 videos are perfect for archiving on the PC even if you never want to make a DVD. I mean a little 320 x 240 15fps video only takes about 750k; half the size of a 6 mega-pixel still. This thing was made for a mac. Movies and photos go right to iPhoto in one operation. And then you can drag and drop into iMovie if you wan't to edit.

"Can't get more portable than this" on by bobmatnyc
Pros: Small, lightweight, easy to use, video clips take up less space, good stills and video
Cons: Image and video quality not as good as dedicated units, weak in low light
Summary: Its hard to appreciate just some small this unit is until you actually hold one. Works great with one-handed operation. Perfect for parents! I think the CNET reviewer did not factor portability and useability enough. I can think of countless occasions when I regretted leaving my camcorder behind. I've also got a box full of mini-DVs that will never get edited because the transfer time is too long.
